Millions of people work hard work hard their entire adult lives to have enough for retirement. For many people, their retirement fund is their largest asset. But some stock brokers see the money you have stashed way for retirement as a tempting target. And more and more older Americans are the victims of retirement investment fraud.

The con can take on many forms: the broker talks you into selling or rolling over your 401(k) or union pension and replacing it with riskier investments that generate more commissions, such as variable annuities, or with stocks and mutual funds that are then overtraded to generate excessive commissions.
