We get lots of questions about brokers who have sold bad investments, and we are getting more questions about people who have suffered outright theft by their brokers. Remember, a broker at a large and ongoing firm, or even just an ongoing firm, at least has that business standing behind the broker. Sometimes we are even able to get insurance coverage against someone who has stolen--and there are lots of issues there.
The bottom line is, even if the broker stole the money, we may be able to help. Of course, we take many cases where the broker simply invested terribly and inappropriately for the customer.
